Unlike standard spot uv. Raised spot uv has a depth of .05 millimeters (50 microns).

Raised Spot UV projects are set up the same way you would set up a standard Spot UV project. When submitting a Raised Spot UV order, you must include a Spot UV mask file along with the regular print file.

The Spot UV Mask file will indicate where the Raised Spot UV coating will be applied. For better quality, we recommend creating mask files in vector-based programs such as adobe Illustrator.

Please only use a solid 100% K to indicate where you would like the Raised Spot UV to be applied. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White = Matte Finish.

UV and non-UV are the abbreviations for the different methods of finish we offer. Here are some of the differences between the two applications:

UV (ultraviolet coating) is a clear liquid coat spread over the paper like ink and then cured instantly with ultraviolet light. UV coating gives more protection and shine than either varnish or aqueous coating. This coating is the "laminate-style" coating that you see on ultra high-gloss magazine covers.

Non-UV is when no coating is applied to the printed piece, leaving the natural coat of our premium 16pt cardstock or 100lb text sheets. We recommend that you choose the non-UV finish if you intend to write on or affix stamps or labels to your printed materials, or if you do not wish to have an extra shiny coat on your final printed pieces.
